Landry N'Guemo

N'Guémo is a native of Dschang, a small town in western Cameroon, he played for various local teams in Dschang before moving to Yaounde aged 13. It was there where he was spotted by scouts of AS Nancyand was promptly invited to France where he had trials before signing for the club aged 15. He made his AS Nancy debut aged 19 in August 2005 as a substitute against Lyon in a Ligue 1match. He made his first start one month later in a match against Troyes.

In January 2009, N'Guémo said he would welcome a move away from the club after being linked by French and English media with moves toArsenal, Sunderland and Everton.

On 31 January 2009, N'Guémo scored his first goal for AS Nancy, a dramatic 90th minute winner in a match against Le Havre. His second goal for the club also came in dramatic circumstances when he again netted in the 90th minute on 23 May 2009 against Olympique Marseille but AS Nancy were beaten 2-1. Celtic manager Tony Mowbray confirmed on 9 July 2009, during the press conference to announce the signing of Marc-Antoine Fortuné, that N'Guemo hadn't yet signed, but that a deal should be concluded in the next few days.

N'Guémo has made three appearances for Cameroon, scoring once. His last appearance for his National team was on 22 January 2008 in a match against Egypt in the opening game of the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.

N'Guémo is a keen falconer and keeps a modest collection of birds of prey with his favourite a White tailed eagle named Mr George after his favourite footballer George Weah. N'Guémo is noted for wearing different colour football boots on each foot and blessing himself and the pitch prior to a match.
